Hi, I'm Gabby
I spent my career teaching doctors how to talk - and listen - to patients & now I'm teaching patients how to talk - and listen - to doctors.
My Mission: Make Healthcare Visits Better
Professional Story
For more than a decade, I’ve been immersed in the world of medical education — hiring, training, and directing standardized patients who help future physicians practice essential communication skills. I’ve guided thousands of clinical encounters, giving me rare insight into what truly builds trust between patients and providers.

Why I Do This Work
I believe that communication isn’t just a skill — it’s the foundation of healing. Patients want to feel seen, heard, and respected. Physicians want to provide the best care without losing themselves in the demands of the system. My mission is to bridge that gap.

Why I Am Uniquely Qualified
For 13 years, I served as the Director of a Standardized Patient & Assessment Center at a U.S. medical school—where I hired and trained hundreds of individuals to portray patients so medical, nursing and health science students as well as practicing physicians could practice communication, empathy, and clinical interviewing skills.
This role gave me an insider’s view of:
-
Exactly how doctors are taught to communicate—and where gaps often occur in real-world practice.
-
How to ask questions in a way that gets clear, useful answers from a provider.
-
What patient behaviors and communication styles help doctors listen, understand, and act effectively.
-
The nonverbal cues and listening techniques that shape whether a patient feels truly heard.
-
The pressures and time constraints doctors face—and how patients can still make their priorities clear in a short visit.
I’ve spent more than a decade bridging the gap between what doctors intend to communicate and what patients actually hear and understand. Now, I use that same expertise to help patients prepare for their own appointments, so they leave feeling confident, informed, and in control of their healthcare.
